Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Review (PS4)

They really weren’t kidding when they titled this game “Odyssey”. After sinking in almost 60 or so hours, there’s still plenty of stuff to do in this vast, open world Ubisoft has created for this latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. But is bigger necessarily better? Here’s my review of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

A Master Assassin's Dream Crate (Part 1 of 3)

What's our dream unboxing experience? Well, it should be memorable. It should have stuff the WE WANT and LOVE. And of course, stuff that are so awesome we'd rant about it without end! And it was such a pleasant surprise to receive a note from Loot Crate, saying they'd love for us to share what we think is an epic unboxing experience.

For those who don't know yet, Loot Crate is this awesome subscription service where they send you crates of an assortment of epic geekery monthly. They told us about a fan project called "Dream Crate", where fans from all over the world can share their own dream team of assortments in their crate.

So if there's anything we'd love to unbox, it's this - a collection of items that we ourselves put out all our thoughts in. And we're not just gonna come up with 1 - we have 3 Dream Crates that we would love to unbox someday. Here's part 1 of 3 of our Dream Crate feature:

Review: Assassin's Creed (Film)

Image from foxmovies.com

Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted.

When it was announced a couple of years back , I got so excited at the prospect of an Assassin’s Creed film produced by Ubisoft themselves, with a brilliant actor like Michael Fassbender headlining the film at that. I wondered, will this finally break the curse of video game movies?

Video: Guess Who'll Make a Cameo on Soul Calibur V?

Heihachi, Link, Master Chief, Star Killer, Yoda and Darth Vader. What do they all have in common? We'll aside from the fact that  they're all awesome, they were also part of the Soul Calibur series as cameo characters. In the upcoming Soul Calibur V, another will make the list, as one famous master assassin enters the world of Souls and Swords. Prepare yourself for Ezio Auditore da Firenze!

Video: Assassin's Creed Embers Trailer

There were only a few characters in the world of video games that have shared their entire lives with us gamers. But I can only think of one game that have let us witness a character's birth, experienced his teen years, and guide him to be the man he is destined to be. In Ubisoft's short film, Assassin's Creed Embers, we see Ezio Auitore da Firenze, one of the most memorable video game characters, in his twilight years and shares with us the closing chapter of his story. Check out the trailer after the break.

Video: Assassin's Creed Revelations Cinematic Trailer

Though showing gray hair and an aged face, in this latest trailer of Assassin's Creed Revelations, Ezio shows why "age doesn't matter" with his graceful kills as a new nemesis, and his Templar lackeys confront the Master Assassin. Catch the awesome trailer after the break and see how Ezio gracefully takes the life of his enemies.

Video: A Real Life, Working Assassin's Creed Hidden Blade

In another Assassin's Creed News, a YouTube user by the name of ammnra posted a video of what looks like a real life, working Assassin's Creed Hidden Blade. Check out the amazing workmanship of this guy, the principles and mechanics of the device at work. I'm not really keen into the inner workings of the device, but basically, a ring pulls a pulley mechanism which trigger the OTF (Out the Front) mechanism, pushing and pulling the blade. (Note: I really want this for Christmas. Haha)

It's really cool, and check out his other works, including a really impressive Mass Effect 2 Garrus costume, Omni Tool cosplay accessory, and a really neat Mace Windu lightsaber to name a few. Hopefully the guy doesn't forget to take off the hidden blade when putting on his sunglasses. =)
