News: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Gets new DLC this March

Ubisoft announced last Feb. 17 that a downloadable Content (DLC) for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems. Entitled "The Da Vinci Disappearance", the DLC is packed with both single player and multiplayer expansions.

Dan Brown's new book? I think not.

Set just after the fall of the Borgias in Rome, Leonardo Da Vinci is kidnapped by the Hermeticists, a cult dedicated to transforming mankind. As Ezio, players will embark on a journey to recover stolen paintings to find Leonardo before it is too late. The single player component will feature two new gameplay features, and two new locations.

The multiplayer expansion boasts a ton of new content as follows:
  1. A new multiplayer map, Alhambra, is a lush environment set in Spain’s Albaicin of Granada.
  2. Four new characters consists of the Dama Rossa, the Knight, the Marquis and the Pariah.
  3. Two new game modes. In Escort mode, two teams of four players compete in this team-based mode where each team must protect their VIP target or assassinate the other team’s VIP. In Assassinate mode, six to eight players will fight in a deathmatch style mode in one ten minute round.
However, unlike its previous DLC's, The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC is not free. The DLC is priced at 800 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360. No official price is announced yet for PSN, but expect it to be around USD 9.99. Watch out for its release on March 8, 2011.
