News: Assassin's Creed Revelations Officially Announced!

Assassin's Creed Revelations is now officially revealed and Game Informer has the latest scoop on this new chapter, being the cover of its June issue. The video loop now features a back to back image of Altair and Ezio, with the Alamut / Masyaf on the left and Constantinople on the right. Ezio now dons a different armor, sports a full beard, and is now much older. Excited much? Read on.

Assassin's Creed Revelations will be the fourth game in the saga (unless you're counting the handheld game spin offs), and will feature both Altair, and Ezio. According to Game Informer, Revelations promises to  reveal more of how all three of the major characters of the story, Altair, Ezio, and Desmond play a part in the Assassin's Creed universe, and will enable players to control all three as playable characters.

Revelations will serve as the finale to Ezio's trilogy, wherein Ezio will travel to a brand new setting, Constantinople, in the heart of the Ottoman reign where an increasing army of Templar Knights threatens the stability of region. (from German Ubisoft forum announcement)  Hints of new weapons, and a new tool that will change the way of traversing the landscape will be introduced in the game. (Observe Ezio's hidden blade, it has a hook.) Also, Assassin's Creed multiplayer will make a comeback with enhanced features.

Assassin's Creed Revelations will be out November 2011, simultaneously for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC. For now, here's a screenshot of the game:

Author's Notes: I really wish I could get my hands on that issue of Game Informer. Gah! I'm an Assassin's Creed junkie myself, and staying up late to wait and write about this was well worth it. =)
