What happens when two of the best fighting game franchises collide? Namco and Capcom are working on it, and when it comes out, the explosion created will rival that of the big bang. Street Fighter X Tekken (the "X" is pronounced as "cross"), one of the most awaited fighting cross-overs is coming to consoles, and Capcom is kind enough to reveal a hair-raising cinematic trailer, and an awesome gameplay video (after the jump).

In this latest update, Capcom reveals some new developments in this brilliant work in progress.
- Confirmed characters now include Ryu, Ken, Guile, Abel, Chun-Li from SF; Kazuya, Nina, King, Marduk, and Bob from Tekken.
- Real time tag battle, featuring SFIV fighting engine.
- Although played in a SFIV engine, the game will be familiar to both SF and Tekken players alike.
- The game will take SFIV's online functionality and improve it further, and provide rich online modes.
- The game will be released 2012, on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
