News: PS3 System Update 3.60 Already Up

PlayStation 3 system update 3.60 is already available for download, so if you're itching to go online on the PlayStation Network, you will have to download the said update. Here are the changes made:

  •  An online storage for game saves for PlayStation Plus Subscribers, wherein game saves are uploaded on a PSN server. Maximum capacity of the online storage is 150 MB, and the limit for the number of uploaded game saves is 1,000.
  • Power Save option will now enable you to set the system to turn off connected controllers after 10, 20, or 30 minutes of idle time.

To update the system from the PS3 itself, go to the settings menu on the home menu / XMB and select "Update via Internet".

For those who update their systems via USB flash drive method, you can download the update file from the following links. Just click the link of the region of your system.
On your USB flash drive, create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named “UPDATE”. Save the update file in the "UPDATE" folder as “PS3UPDAT.PUP”. Plug the device to the PS3, and go to the settings menu on the home menu / XMB. Select system update, and select the "Update via Storage Media".
