News: Modern Warfare 3 Teaser Site Up?

Various gaming sites have reported the opening of a website, findmakarov.com possibly hinting to a reveal of Modern Warfare 3, the sequel to 2009's hit FPS Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The site, featuring a quick flash of a man in a beret, shows a countdown timer bearing the familiar fonts / typeface used in Modern Warfare games. The name of the site also references to MW2's antagonist, Makarov, an ultranationalist terrorist, who's also responsible for stirring up quite a controversy in the real world with the game's  "No Russian" level. Aside from this, various gaming press has also received dog-tags referencing to the site, with one bearing the name Sheperd, a character from MW2.

The countdown indicated on the site will end on March 2, 7 a.m. PST (March 2, 11 PM in the Philippines, correct me if I'm wrong). The Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco is also happening on the same date.

Activition has later denied revealing any upcoming COD games. Here's their official statement to IGN:

"There seems to be a great deal of speculation about the next Call of Duty project. Let me be clear that we are not revealing yet. Anything indicating otherwise is a hoax."

Let's just wait and see if this is really just a hoax then.
