Just a few days before E3, Konami has gone ahead of other studios and publishers in terms of announcing their directions and new games for this and the coming year by having their own pre E3 conference. Well, its a good move considering E3 is no longer a public event. They've announced plenty of new games, including an interesting new IP titled "Never Dead", and announced some developments in the Kojima Productions studios. Check out the vid for the full press conference:
1. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D - The classic Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater will have a remake, made portable and brought to full stereoscopic 3D on the Nintendo 3DS platform! Tons of features has been announced, including use of the gyro sensor to control some of the sequences, and a smart use of the 3DS's camera to make your own camouflage dubbed as "Photo-Camo"! Check out the trailer after the feature on MGS: Snake Eater, and hey, is that Yoshi?!
2. Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 - Looks like their upping the ante on this one as they are making a lot of enhancements on factors aiming for realism. Sorry, I really haven't been a fan of the series, but if you're a fan and you're seeking for more challenge, you might just like the developments.
3. Never Dead - Ah yes, this one. Never Dead puts you in the shoes of Bryce Boltzmann, an immortal demon hunter, and he takes being immortal really seriously. In this game, you never die. Torn limbs? Not a problem. Torn body in half? Just another day in Bryce's immortality. Beheaded? Nope, not good enough - this isn't Highlander. Apparently you can even use these awkward situations to fight your enemies. Check out the feature and the trailer, backed with an awesome Megadeth soundtrack.
4. Silent Hill - The crew of the upcoming Silent Hill Revelations 3D film share their thoughts on developing the film and how they aim to recreate a psychological-horror film that is true to the Silent Hill mythology. Plus, Konami announces the Silent Hill Collection, HD remakes of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. Call me a sissy, but I've never played any Silent Hill game. Are they that scary? Maybe this is my time to get them and test the limits of my courage [gulp]. Plus, they've also announced Silent Hill Book of Memories [Pending Concept], an upcoming game for the PlayStation NGP. Check out also the latest trailer for the upcoming Silent Hill Downpour, coming this Winter on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
5. Kojima Productions Announcements - What would be a Konami announcement without any Kojima Pro announcement? The first major announcement from Kojima Pro is "Transfarring". You read that right. Transfarring, according to Metal Gear master Hideo Kojima, aims to promote a new gaming lifestyle. With Transfarring, you'll be able to transfer your Kojima Pro games from your PS3, and continue your progress on your PSP! Once back at home, you can take your save file from your PSP back to the PS3 and continue your gaming in HD. The first game that will enable this feature will be the HD remake of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Along with the announcement of Transfarring is the inevitable announcement of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. If you've missed Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and MGS: Peace Walker, this will be your chance to grab them in HD for the PS3 and Xbox 360 this coming November. If you've also missed Kojima's awesome Zone of the Enders games, you'll also be able to grab them in their own Zone of the Enders HD Collection coming also to the PS3 and Xbox 360 this 2012.
Not much news however for Metal Gear Solid Rising, but Kojima announced that they are still targeting a 2012 release for the game.
Hideo Kojima also revealed that they have been developing a proprietary engine, called the Fox engine, which will be used to run a future unannounced game from Kojima, as well as other future games from their studio. With the engine, they are hoping to develop games also on multiple platforms.
6. They're Coming Teaser - Don't close that browser of yours when the press conference ends. An iconic "C" shaped fireball appears at the end. Contra anyone?!
So what do you think? Are you hyped up from all these announcements from Konami?
