E3 2011: NGP Unveiled as PS Vita, Pricing Announced

E3 2011 is just full of news and announcements, it's been hard for me to keep up with the tons of great announcements. Don't you worry guys, I'm planning to make an E3 recap feature post so you can catch the highlights of E3 2011. Anyway, I'm gonna start off with one of Sony's biggest announcements - the PS Vita.

You guys may be familiar with the NGP, the official successor to Sony's PSP. Just yesterday, Sony officially renamed the system to PS Vita. Vita is a Latin word for life, and PS Vita aims to live up to its namesake, by creating a whole new lifestyle for handheld gaming, with features including dual analog sticks, 5-inch OLED (organic light emitting display) screen, rear multi-touch pad, Wi-fi and 3G connectivity capabilities and more. With the PS Vita, Sony might just have prepped the sweetest Christmas gift any gamer can get as it will be launching at the end of 2011, perfect for the Christmas season.

What's more surprising about the launch announcement is the pricing for the product. Two versions of PS Vita will be released, one with Wi-fi only, and the other with both Wi-fi and 3G capabilities, priced at $249 and $299 respectively. Plus, the PS Vita will launch with a strong lineup of titles, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Big Planet, Modnation Racers, Wipeout 2048 and tons more!

If you're still not psyched about this awesome piece of gaming machine the video below:

The PS Vita definitely stands out in my must but list, I might just pick this one up as a Christmas gift to myself. Haha >.<
