News: Full PSN Service to be Expected at May's End [UPDATED]

I really hate being the bringer of bad news but, in a recent interview of Bloomberg with Sony's Tokyo based spokesman, Shigenori Yoshida, Sony's uncertain when it can resume its services. According to the report, the company is currently in the process of adopting an improved security system, and a full system restart can be expected at May 31.

If this is to be expected, the full PSN service will have been down for about six weeks, counting from the April 19 - 20 shut down. No further details with regard to the initially planned partial restoration of PSN was provided. The article only mentions Sony's earlier announcement of partial restoration within the week.

4 - 5 has already passed since the last official update from the PlayStation Blog, and it appears also that the blog cannot be accessed at this time.On top of that, Sony has been missing announced deadlines of at least partial service restoration. This is just getting worse and worse by the minute.

UPDATE:

According to an interview with Kotaku, Sony officials say that there is no estimate as to when they can put the system back online. "We're working hard, doing everything we can to get the services restored as soon as possible," the spokesman said.

Also, as of today, no official press release or update has been provided by Sony with regard to the said restoration.

UPDATE 2:

According to the latest post on SCEE's PlayStation blog by Nick Caplin, no exact date was given as to when services will be restored, and restoration will likely take a few more days.
