News: PSN Welcome Back Appreciation Program Detailed

Now that the initial phase of the restoration of PSN is almost complete, Sony has now detailed the the "Welcome Back" appreciation program for their existing users. The package includes a selection of  free games for both PS3 and the PSP, free days for PlayStation Plus and tons of other content. Check out the details after the break!


Patrick Seybold has detailed on a recent post  the PlayStation blog the contents of the Welcome Back program, and as earlier mentioned, the package will be made available to all existing registered PSN users.

PS3 users will be able to download two of the following games for free, and will be available for download for 30 days after the PS Store is restored:
  • Dead Nation
  • inFAMOUS
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Super Stardust HD
  • Wipeout HD + Fury
 The same goes for PSP users. PSP users may download two of the following games within 30 days of restoration of PS Store:
  • LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
  • ModNation Racers
  • Pursuit Force
  • Killzone Liberation 
Additional offerings are as follows:
  • A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
  • 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
  • Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
  • Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
  • Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
  • PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.
The above package is applicable to US PSN subscribers. As for Europe and Latin America, Sony has detailed the package in separate posts. As for Asia however, there are no details yet regarding the package to be given to Asia PSN users was mentioned.

Not such a bad deal eh? I'm glad I don't own any of these games yet, and I have multiple US PSN accounts to download all of these. Great job Sony.
