News: Mass Effect 3 Delayed for a 2012 Release

This could be bad news for everybody, but Mass Effect 3 has been delayed and pushed for a 2012 release. According to the official announcement of Chris Priestly, Bioware's Community Coordinator on the Bioware official forums, ME3 will be pushed to the first three months of 2012, to ensure that ME3 will be a badass game. Here's the official quote of Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect Series.

"Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”

Bioware promises to reveal more details as they near the release date. The post also announces the release of two new screenshots for ME3.

This news would have probably ruined the day for a lot of people, but I'd like to look at the bright side. I wouldn't mind the delay, as long as they promise to deliver a high quality game. I think this is a good move for Bioware too, since tons of highly anticipated games will be out 4th quarter this year. Aside from that, judging from the earlier mentioned screenshots, ME3 is really looking good. Check it out below, and visit the official Bioware site for more.

Kaidan and Liara returns in ME3. Recruitable? Hope so.
Could this be the Asari homeworld Thessia?
