News: Anonymous Members Likely Behind PSN Attacks Says, Well, Anonymous

It's been a crazy week for both Sony and Anonymous. During Sony's investigations late last week, as disclosed in its letter to the US Congress, Sony found a file implanted in SOE's servers implicating Anonymous as the culprit. Anonymous immediately responded with a denial. Now, according to an article on Financial Times, two veterans of hacktivist group Anonymous acknowledged that members of the group may have been behind the PSN and SOE hacking attacks. What is really going on people?!

According to one Anonymous veteran, an individual or a handful of supporters of Anonymous's operation to disrupt Sony services (OpSony), went further than the group's initial intention, when they broke into Sony's infrastructure and stole account details. He also told Financial Times that he saw technical details of Sony's network vulnerability posted in Anonymous's chatroom some time before the attack.

Another Anonymous veteran, under the alias "Kayla", who participated in another hacking operation of a security firm, mentioned that it is possible that other members of Anonymous were responsible to the recent attacks on Sony. The member also referenced to Anonymous's non-hierarchical organization, stating that "If you say you are Anonymous, and do something as Anonymous, then Anonymous did it."
