Jack Tretton, President and CEO of SCEA, has announced at Gamescom earlier today a major price drop for the PS3, so If you're planning to buy a new console (and a Blu-ray player), now is a perfect opportunity to grab a PS3. Read on for the details!
Effective immediately in North America, the 160GB and 320GB PS3 will now be available for $249 and $299 respectively. Available also in participating North American retailers is the limited edition InFamous 2 Bundle which comes with a 320GB PS3, InFAMOUS 2, and a 30-day subscription to PlayStation Plus, which will retail for $299.
Europe and PAL territories will also get a share of the price drop with the 160GB PS3, which will now retail for 249 Euros effective immediately. Japan will also be dropping the price of the 160GB PS3 to 24,980 Yen on August 18.
No word yet when the price drop will take effect in the Philippines, but we'll be sure to update you on this, so stay tuned to this site for updates!
