News: PS3 Call of Duty Black Ops gets First Strike DLC This March

A map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released for the PS3 this coming March. Entitled First Strike, the DLC will feature 5 new multiplayer maps, including one new map for the critically acclaimed Nazi Zombies mode. The First Strike DLC was released earlier for the Xbox 360 system last Feb. 1, 2011, and now PS3 owners will also get a chance to download the expansion.

The First Strike DLC features the following new maps:
  • Berlin Wall - Featuring the wall which divided the world into East and West, this map also features a "no man's land" area, where automated turrets will shoot players crazy enough to stand in this area.
  • Discovery - Set in an old German Antarctic base, this map features destructible environments that can change the pace of the game.
  • Kowloon - Based on the single player mission "Numbers", players will take on their enemies on this frenetic rooftop environment while utilizing zip lines.
  • Stadium - A map featuring a hockey arena, however, combat will be centered around the area surrounding the arena itself.
  • Ascension - A new map for the popular Nazi Zombies mode, the map is set in a Soviet research base, featuring the original characters of Nazi Zombies. The map is packed with new weapons; new enemies such as Space Monkeys, which steals the players perks; new gadgets and vehicles like the Lunar Lander, Matryoshka dolls (a.k.a Russian stacking dolls), and the Gersch Device, which creates a mini black hole; and new perks.
The First Strike DLC will be available for download on the PlayStation Network on March 3, 2011, for USD 15.00.
