Rockstar Games has officially announced the release date for Max Payne game series' long awaited sequel, Max Payne 3, and will be hitting your favorite retailer's store shelves March 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Max Payne 3 will continue the saga of former NYPD detective May Payne, now having established a new life in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Now working private security for a rich industrialist, Max is forced to fight once again as gangs threaten the life of his client, hoping this will rid him of the traumatic past that have tormented him.
Max Payne 3 will be a cross studio collaboration between Rockstar Game's various studios, and will utilize Natural Motion Physics, as well as the latest version of the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE). With these advancements, the game will feature a refined Max Payne gameplay, extensive range of realistic weaponry, an intelligent cover system and sophisticated Bullet-Time mechanics. And for the first time in series, Max Payne 3 will also feature multiplayer combining classic modes with dynamically altering maps, leveling and reward system, and strategic load out options.
"Max Payne 3 gave us an amazing creative opportunity to evolve one of our most iconic characters," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We're excited to show fans a modern version of Max that pulls them back into his dark and twisted story."
